MAY 1, 2021 - Fort Laurens Museum is open for the 2021 season . Tour the museum, which explores the life and experience of soldiers stationed at Fort Laurens. Dress up like a soldier or lady of he Revolution at the  interactive dress-up station, and meet Revolutionary War soldiers. Fort Laurens is now open, with special at-risk hours Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Masks are required of all guests during this time period.

July 4, 2021 - 11:00 AM at the Tomb of the Unknown Patriot  NO PLAN YET

July 15-17 , 2020 - History Day Camp for Kids- Call (330) 874-2059 or (330) 874-3011 / 800-262-6195 for info    Travel back in time and explore the America of centuries past during History Camp at Historic Zoar Village and the Fort Laurens Museum! Each day, learn about a different period in American history, including the Revolutionary War and Canal life. Students will experience history hands on through engaging interactive demonstrations, participating in a day in the life of the Separatists of Zoar, and meeting the people who lived at the time. July 10 and 11 will take place in Zoar. July 12 will take place at Fort Laurens. Each day, camp beings at 1pm and ends at 4pm. Cost for the camp is $10 per child per day, or $25 for all three days and includes an afternoon snack. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 330-874-3011 or 1-800-262-6195. Reservations are due by July 5.

July xx-xx , 2021 - Revolution on the Tuscarawas -  No Word Yet Brigade of the American Revolution reenactment - Ready, Aim, Fire! Travel back in time and spend a weekend at Fort Laurens during Revolution on the Tuscarawas: Revolutionary War Encampment and Reenactment. On Saturday,  explore British and Continental camps, meet soldiers from both sides of the conflict, learn about early American life, and more! Kids can enjoy musket drills, colonial American games, and crafts throughout the event. Tours of Fort Laurens Museum and grounds will run during both days. To close out the event, watch a mock battle for American Independence. Admission for the event is $10/for adults and $5 for children 12 & under. Hours for the event are Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Ever wanted to attend History Camp only to be told it was only for kids? Well not anymore! Adult campers will explore life on the Ohio Frontier through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and storytelling from costumed historical interpreters. Camp will take place daily from 1pm-4pm. July 16, 17, and 18 will take place in Zoar with July 19 taking place at Fort Laurens. The cost is $25 per adult per day or $85 for all four days and includes an afternoon snack. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 330-874-3011. Reservations are due by July 12.

10:00   AM Sons of the American Revolution Ceremony at Tomb of the Unknown Patriot   Join the Sons of the American Revolution chapters from around the country for a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Patriot at Fort Laurens on Saturday, July 25. This ceremony will include a keynote address, a color and honor guard, and a wreath laying. It is free and open to the public to attend. CANCELLED

Aug. (TBA) , 2020 - Sons of the American Revolution Vigil and Changing of the Guard - Tomb of the Unknown Patriot. The SAR will stand vigil at the Tomb of the Unknown Patriot of the American Revolution on the grounds of the Fort Laurens Museum. Each participant will stand guard for thirty minute shifts and perform a replica of the vigil at the National Tomb of the Unknown Solider including the changing of the guards. SAR members or chapters wishing to participate can call 330-874-3011 for more details. Oct. 9, 2020 - Archaeology School Day - Discover archaeology at the Fort Laurens Museum. Throughout the day, learn the trade, tools, and discoveries of archaeologists. Hands-on activities will engage students in archaeological practices including a mock dig, flint knapping, atlatl throwing, cabin construction, lego stratigraphy, mosaic puzzles, and metal detecting. Students will also participate in recreating famous archaeological discoveries. This event is open to all public, private, and homeschool students. Cost for this event is $5 a student. One adult per group is free, each additional adult is $7, and all teachers are free. Reservations are required for the event and can be made by calling 330-874-3011 or 1-800-262-6195. Oct ? 20? Ghost Tours - Tour the dark grounds by lantern light and listen to the haunting tales of the ghosts of Fort Laurens. American and British soldiers haunt the grounds, looking for lost souls like themselves. Tours begin at 7:30 p.m. on the 25th and 8:30 PM on the 26th. and leave the museum every 15 minutes. Nov. ?, 2021 NO PLAN YET Veterans’ Day Ceremony at Tomb of Unknown Patriot and Luncheon 11:00AM - 1:00 PM    Join Fort Laurens Museum as we honor the sacrifices of veterans, both past and present, in this intimate wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Patriot. The program includes an honor and color guard, a keynote speaker, and the wreath laying ceremony held at 11am. Immediately following the ceremony, a lunch provided by of the Friends of Fort Laurens will occur. This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Friends of Fort Laurens Foundation
